Ask HN: Why my submissions are ghost banned?

by becausecurious on 2/20/22, 9:51 PM with 4 comments

Hey, I tried posting stuff I was making in "Show HN". However, after 2 posts, my third one was ghost banned. I can see them when signed in and not otherwise: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30084098

Does anyone know what could cause this ghost ban? Thank you!

    From the guidelines:

    > "Please don't post on HN to ask or tell us something. Send it to hn@ycombinator.com."

Off-topic: I looked at your previous submissions and I have some feedback that is unrelated to the question in the title.

I noticed that the post has no link to the main page of your website, only to the contact page. You should add a link there to https://becausecurious.me

Also, the top page of your website is empty. You should make a list of your projects there. The idea is that if someone finds one of your projects, it's easy to discover all your other projects. And it also helps Google find and list all of them.

As I said before, this navigation problem is unrelated to the question in the title.

I am also having an odd issue. I tried to submit a news article, but I got the “Slow down!” error, though I had only posted one comment over 20 minutes previous.

There are some domains which are auto shadow banned on HN. If you think it's a mistake, you could write an email to mods.
