Ethics, as a concept, and behaving in a ethical way is mostly common sense: Don't harm others, etc.
If you want to go deeper, however, you'd probably be better served reading on the Philosophy of Ethics, rather than religion in my view. Try read up on John Stuart Mill, Immanuel Kant, et al.

what purpose or use do you want out this, if you want a practical lecture there are ample across many topics, with no religion involved.
A sermon by its nature is one of a religious or moral nature. and is often based around not literal matters.
what do you see what your asking for looking like?
