Ask HN: How are you using Raspberry Pi or other SBCs?

What sort of applications are you using your Raspberry Pi or other SBCs, in your home or at work. Desktop for limited use to look things up in the garage/workshop? Media server? How do you set them up? How often do you/have to rebuild them or otherwise spend time maintaining them? How frequently do you upgrade hardware and what causes you to upgrade?

Primary (off-grid) Web, mail, DNS, etc, server: replaced a whole rack of (Sun) server equipment. Now several iterations in:

Probably somewhat overdue un upgrade to get onto a newer OS but not newer h/w since too power hungry.

    Here's the software side:

I have a headless Pi4B as a web server plus UPS controller. I log in via ssh or VNC Viewer (if I think of it). It has a substantial passive heatsink, runs about 40-45 degrees C.

"If it works. don't fix it" - I intend it to run happily until it dies, so no hardware upgrades necessary. Been running over 12 months so far.
