Ask HN: What are the best engineering brands in 2021?

What companies have the strongest engineering brands and why?

What about open source brands?

Blender is one of the highest quality open-source projects.

Companies that are known for their good products or work (to me, at least, and not considering the work environments) include Galois, Boston Dynamics, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, SpaceX, Stripe, Charles Schwab.

I have no idea what this question is asking.

'Engineering,' like 'art,' is one of those hand-wavey words.

In fact, I have a feeling you're actually asking:

"What are the coolest brands, as perceived by engineers, and why?"

Which is about as substantial as asking what the _pinkest_ brands are, or what the most _geographically-distributed_ brands are.

Or perhaps less so -- at least we can characterize 'pink' and 'geographically distributed' as reducible terms.

If you are asking about Tech Companies with best engineering brands, I feel the following in order:

    - SpaceX

    - Tesla

    - Microsoft (yep, it's improved)

    - Stripe

    - Google
