    Not only EVs, dual-clutch transmission too since that is basically an automated gearbox so there’s no P therefore electric parking brakes are applied when you stop, if that stops working for whatever reason you can’t move the car.

    I'm boggled that this is not checked for in type-approvals.

    A mechanical winding disconnect seem to be an easy solution
