Without Linus' rants linux will never be what it is. It's sad that some people have nothing to do and they just like to denigrate OSS while relying on it. Why not a list of Paul Graham (because he appears on a lot of HN posts) rants sorted by hate ?

shrugs. A bit underwhelming. Mr. Torvalds is (or was) well known for his rants. And he was usually, even if not always, right. He took bold positions too, like when he dismissed SCSI in favor of IDE. That was unorthodox in the early nineties, but with hindsight, right. There are number more of those, hence the success of Linux.

Misleading title. Negativity is not hate.

It's (fake?) rage not hate.
And remember, this f*king kernel is solid!

not a bad sort for "most entertaining" either. and a further extraction to see why he was being excitable in each case would probably constitute a very good course on "things not to do"

Aren't such collections online hate? The publication seems to be for entertainment. The "science" part of the mockery?!

Linus was blunt in calling out bs. Of course, the bullshitters didn't like "negativity" towards their bs.
