Ask HN: Advice for Applying as Back End Dev

by viginti_tres on 8/2/21, 7:21 PM with 1 comments

I'm going to apply as a Backend Developer in a tech company around next month. I majored in health, did not finish. I'm not gonna tell anything about my education either because they don't require any bachelor certificate. They have system design interview, some coding interview and some behavioral interview. Now I'm learning system design, CP, and also building a project with golang. What should I do to increase my chance of being accepted? Thank you

For system design, not structuring my answers was my biggest weakness. After I discovered Lewis Lin's PEDALS framework, I was able to land some offers. Also highly recommend his System Design book.
