  The 90's Lotus 108¹ mentioned in the article is such a radically different approach to the one in TFA. I wonder if any of the new ideas were considered back in the 90s, but dropped because of materials, less CFD access, $something_totally_different.

  The new one looks like incredibly good value for money too, given they were knocking the old bike out for £15,000 in the early nineties.
