I strongly recommend people avoid health products (supplements, vitamins, etc.) and electronics from third parties on Amazon for this very reason. It's worth paying extra to get these kinds of goods from a retailer that works directly with the manufacturer or authorized distributor so you know you're actually getting the real thing.

I bought a "AmazonBasics Replacement LG Water Filter" and it was FAKE, somebody mixed in fake water filters into Amazon's own brand!. Never again have I bought anything from Amazon that I put in my body.

They sold thousands of those water filters before they stopped selling them.

Over the last decade, I feel like quality of products from Amazon has turned into an unmitigated disaster for consumers... At this point in time, I won't even consider buying from third party merchants, certain categories of products and even stuff direct from Amazon feels like a crapshoot.

Most of the products on the Amazon marketplace feel more like the type you would find at a dollar store than from something you would find at a Target, WalMart or even a specialty store.

I shocks me that they sell things like vitamins and supplements through third party sellers.

For the last year I have not bought any food or health products on Amazon. Main reason is I believe I received a knockoff for a food item. It was that point I realized I'd rather not roll the dice with what goes in or on my body.

    Long Overdue.
