Chartio is going away on March 1, 2022

Sigh. It feels like the entire internet is owned by less than 10 companies. I hate to live in such a monopolistic world

Chartio manages to make dashboards easy by removing all the proprietary layers and extra UI steps to get to the point.

I am not talking about easy as point and click (although I know they are selling that too).

Easy for me was to allowing me to focus 99% of my attention on writing the SQL query.

Superset has a similar philosophy but is in need of a UX overhaul. It also lacks some seemingly small but very important features that Chartio has. Mainly because in superset the operations are done in python on the already retrieved result.

Pretty annoying as I’d just got all my dashboards set up and now they cancel my trial, gah!

Atlassian has a wide market share because their pricing is relatively cheap and most of the paid competitors suck.

It’s not innovative to buy an innovative company/product, if all you’re going to do with it is reinforce your own mediocre products.
