    I hope once this crisis is dealt with texans (and others) can have a hard look at their preparedness for edge cases.

    Retrofit with very good insulation would help in this case plus in the heat of summer (save on AC costs). Add a TSLA powerwall or other energy store and each home could be reasonably safe for a few days of rationed usage.

    Much like the issues with supplies to deal with a pandemic, this is a relatable case of lack of preparedness for an inevitable event.
