Ask HN: Front end developer resources / course

Hi,

I'm a Graphic / Multimedia designer who likes to move to the web every now and then. I've been doing some HTML / CSS coding in the past, and can say i'm intermediate in both of them. But i want to expand my knowledge and and find tutorials or start a course to become a Front End Developer.

Basically what i'm after is: I know my base, and like to expand with Javascript and their various frameworks, but there's soo much on the market. I literally can't see where to get started to become a developer. Should I be going for Webpack (which i've looked into but sounds complicated for now). Or should i be learning Javascript first? What about Ruby on Rails? AngularJS? Maybe PHP for Wordpress? See a lot of questions, and hopefully you can help me with this. What resources do you suggest for a beginner in this field?

Thanks for your suggestions.

Just pick one and build something. For a beginner the return will be high. If it is not the right one, then pick something else because the "wrong" one will provide a context for understanding and evaluating the next one.

    Good luck.
