Formula for an ellipse in 12 dimensions?

Do we have such a formula. Anyone know what it is? Feel free to over explain, I'm not highly studied in math.

    (x_1/a_1)^2 + ... + (x_12/a_12)^2 = 1

    It's the obvious generalization of an ellipse in 2 dimensions.
